Product Description
Glycolic acid works as an exfoliating agent because of its high acidity but easy solubility. When placed on the skin as part of an exfoliating cream or gel, glycolic acid goes under the damaged upper layers of skin and destroys the 'glue', which holds dead skin to the surface. As this dead skin is chemically burned off, the other ingredients carry the individual flakes away and a water rinse neutralizes the remaining acid. The result is a much-smoother skin surface and a more youthful appearance. A secondary benefit is glycolic acid's ability to draw moisturizers into the newly exfoliated skin surface.

Great product

I am a 56 yr old woman with alot of sun damage ( uneven skin tone and quite a few age spots )After just one use i could see a differance in the skin tone and slight fading of my age spots and even improved my few wrinkles, showing to be less apparent. I have just used again and have to wait for about seven days to see the results but after seeing how it worked after just one time i am sure my skin will look even better.
The only reason i rated it a 4 instead of a 5 is because i will need to see the final results before i can give a truthful statement. All and all this product does work but to be very carefull when applying is very strong.
Found an article on how to use a 70% glycolic chemical peel on the web at e-how .This article is very detailed ,would be very helpful to use product correctly. For example they say to put vasaline on your eye lids and on your lips and yes these areas will be extremely painfull if the chemical should come in contact with. They also say to to not wash your face for a couple of days and the only thing to use on your face is the serum of an aloe plant, and not to use any kind of moisturizer for those few days because can cause an infection. This i followed and found excellent results on down time.My husband even asked me what i was doing to my face,he said i looked so refreshed and i looked more youthfull, that convinced me that i will be useing this produt in the future.
The service was fast, recieved in about 4 days. Would recommend this product highly.

Awesome!
By Ladynikon
I tried this 5 weeks ago. I ordered the 70% but do NOT have sensitive skin, and have had chemical peels before. DO NOT START AT 70.
I have attached a before and after picture. The first two weeks I applied every three days for 3 mins. Now I apply once a week for 5 mins.
The first two weeks it burned like crap when it was on, I used a blowdryer on cool setting to help deal.. but it was painful. However, it was well worth it. I had some serious flakey/dry skin the first week or so.It was nothing a puff buff couldn't handle. Nothing bad just some tenderness for a day or so.
I started to use bio-oil to moisturize afterwards and it works great. I did use a baking soda water mix to neutralize the solution after each peel. Some people don't use a neutralizer but I like it, it feels great it bubbles up, then I simply rinse away and follow with my Bio-Oil.
After 5 weeks and about 8 treatments, my acne is almost gone. All that is left is scars and they are fading. My pores are smaller. The actual texture of my skin is soft and it glows. I use very little makeup and what I do goes on much better.
This product is a life saver.
I have tried several dermatologist treatments and this by far as worked the best. Even the Clairsonic brush didn't do what this little bottle did and it was over $200.
I use Neutrogena Redness Soothing Oil Free Acne Wash 2x a day with a Clairsonic.
70% Glycolic Acid Treatment 1x week for 5 Mins
Oil of Olay Oil Free spf 25 Daytime and Bio-Oil at night.
The only thing I changed was adding the Glycolic acid and I have great results in about 5 weeks. I can't wait to see my skin at 6 months.
I'm 30 with Normal to Dry Skin.
UPDATE 1-9-12
It's been a little over 6 months, I only use powder over sunscreen: Neutrogena Age Shield Sunblock Face, SPF 90 and wash my face with the Clairsonic still. Although, instead of bio-oil I use organic coconut oil as it's really good for acne. I also use a handmade acne soap called SOS with essential oils made by Bright Botanicals for sale on Etsy. It lathers really really well and doesn't make me too dry.
I still use this peel once a month for 5-10 minutes. It's great but it still always burns. I am probably going to go to every other month or every 3 months now.
Keep in mind I had awful pitted skin and bad acne when I started using it. I think I would do every 5-10 days at first if I had it to do over again. My skin is thick, pale and very acne prone. But it's not oily it is (was) dry and course and I am not sensitive in the least bit. So if you are be super careful you can burn yourself and darker skin can discolor.
I still get tender and still peel and flake when I use it's only for a few days. I don't wear foundation anymore, so for me it's a nice trade off.

TIPS & TRICKS FOR THIS PRODUCT!!
Save yourself a lot of pain & suffering. You don't have to make mistakes like I did!
-Be sure that before you use 70% GA you have a gel moisturizer, serum, or natural aloe vera gel on hand. Through my experience I have found that normal cream moisturizers cause more redness and can really aggravate an acid burn.
-Drink lots of water the day you plan to do the peel so your skin is well hydrated & clean. This is SO important!!! Water does MIRACLES for the skin.
-Get your shallow bowl of BAKING SODA ready to go before you even put this on your face!
More times than needed, I did my thang with the GA-- was READY to take it off my face-- but had to go find baking soda to stop the acid from working!
In the time it takes for you to:
>Frantically run into the kitchen
>Grab a bowl
>Find the elusive baking soda in the cupboard **HARDEST PART**
>Figure out how to pour some baking soda OUT of the box (those paper tabs can be so testy)!
>Rush back into the bathroom
>Pour enough water to get the solution to the right consistency
>Mix it with your hands
>Get a cotton pad (OPTIONAL)
>Rub/splash it all over your face to neutralize the acid...
>>>YOU MIGHT END UP WITH AN ACID BURN !
