Skin Trip is WONDERFUL!

I'm so pleased to see people who, like me, have been using Skin Trip for over 20 years. I found it 28 years ago on a trip to Colorado and have used it every day since. My sons are now hooked, too.
This isn't just a moisturizer-- it protects your skin from city grunge, sun and wind, and all the daily attacks on your face. If you get sunburned, Skin Trip will wick away the burn and itch. The coconut smells so good in the morning you'll want to taste it.
I'm really pleased to see it available online. Our "health food" stores in Oklahoma think it's okay to run out of Skin Trip! Not an option as far as I'm concerned.
At 55, I have great-looking skin and I'm convinced that Skin Trip is the cause. Buy some!!

A different reason for loving it

Although I love love love this lotion cause it works so well...its a more emotional connection for me.
As a child growing up in the Denver area I remember my big sister tanning and how she always had this amazing smell. I also remember how mad she got at me for sneaking into her room and using it. Of Course I always tried to lie and tell her I didn't do it. Figures she never believed me...I smelled just like her!!!! (I was only about 7 or 8!)
So as a grown-up for my birthday and Christmas every year my sister would send me my own bottle of skin trip. I lost her to cancer last fall and and have to say that as much as I miss her...skin trip helps bring her back every day.

NO PARABEN!

**UPDATE**. There are reportedly NO PARABENS in this lotion. I was so bummed to read the ingredient list on here...it lists propyl paraben and I was crushed. I grew up in Colorado using this great coconut lotion...they need to update the ingredient list! I will cut and paste the list from the company website. LOVE LOVE LOVE this lotion!

It's light and smooth feel is unique among skin moisturizers. Skin Trip's non-greasy and fast-absorbing formula soothes, protects and quickly replenishes much needed moisture to dry skin. It provides the nutrients that your skin needs and helps reduce the natural evaporation of moisture from the skin. Ingredients
Purified Water - Deionized water that has been boiled to insure that there is no microbial contamination.
Coconut Oil - An excellent moisturizer that helps keep connective tissues strong and supple. The benefits of coconut oil can be attributed to the presence of lauric acid, capric acid and capryllic acid, and its antimicrobial, antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial and soothing properties. Its benefits are comparable to those of mineral oil, but without any adverse side effects. Coconut oil helps prevent premature aging of the skin and helps treat many skin problems such as psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema and other skin infections.
Aloe Vera - Aloe Vera's use as a soothing and healing aid for skin problems can be traced back 6,000 years to early Egypt, where the plant was depicted on stone carvings and presented as a burial gift to deceased pharaohs. It is known as the "plant of immortality" and heralded as nature's gift to the skin. Traditionally, aloe vera was used topically to heal wounds and for various skin conditions, and orally as a laxative. Today, it is used topically for osteoarthritis, burns, sunburns and psoriasis, among other conditions. Its topical use has no known side effects.
Sorbitol - Derived from fruit, sorbitol works as a stabilizer and gives a lubricious feel to the lotion.
Lanolin Alcohols - Derived from sheep's wool, lanolin is considered to be a true moisturizer. Working as an emollient, it helps to smooth and soften the skin. Skin Trip's lanolin is distilled, removing any allergy producing impurities.
Stearic Acid - This ingredient has none of the harsh effects commonly associated with acids. Stearic acid is part of the emulsifying system and significantly affects the consistency of the final product. It is a white, waxy, natural fatty acid derived from vegetables.
Hybrid Safflower Oil -A special, cosmetic grade safflower oil known for its emollient, nourishing and protectant properties.
Emulsifying Wax - Derived from coconut oil, this higher-fatty alcohol wax provides pearliness and firmness.
Cetearyl Alcohol - Synthesized from coconut oil, this wax-like fatty alcohol substance helps emulsify oils into a water base.
Phenoxyethanol - Derived from oranges and many essential oils, this ingredient offers antibacterial and preservative characteristics. It has no known toxicity.
Dimethicone - A silicon derivative that contributes a degree of water-repellency and leaves a soft, smooth feel without being sticky or oily.
Behentrimonium Methosulfate - A vegetable-derived, cationic emulsifier that is very mild and an effective skin-conditioning agent. It provides that silky, powdery feel that Skin Trip is known for.
Linoleamidopropyl PG Dimonium Chloride Phosphate - A cationic emulsifier derived from linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid known for its beneficial properties to the skin. Research points to linoleic acid's anti-inflammatory, acne reductive and moisture retentive properties when applied topically. This ingredient contributes to Skin Trip's unique feel.
Benzethonium Chloride - An organic quaternary salt that has excellent germicidal action.
Dicetyldimonium Chloride - Another organic quaternary that increases the substantive nature of an ingredient, thus enabling it to remain on the skin when other water-soluble formulations are rinsed away.
Fragrance - A light scent of coconut.
Previous review:
I LOVE the smell of this lotion. I've used it for years...until the past few years when I became more aware and health conscious. Parabens are cheap preservatives that are used in cheap cosmetics and lotions. They've also been found to be quite cancer causing--most especially tied to breast cancer. Otherwise, the ingredients are seemingly fine.
