Product Description
This medium depth peel uses Trichloroacetic acid and will improve many of the skin conditions that we all see (and wish we didn't!) when we look in the mirror. After peeling your skin will be softer, smoother, with improved texture and tone and reduced hyperpigmentation (sun damage). Those are the differences on the surface of your skin. But the real magic is going on under your skin where collagen is being stimulated. This is what plumps up the lines and scars, yielding a smoother, more refined and beautiful complexion. The Skin Obsession 25% TCA Peel is a medium peel. There is down time associated with this peel, between 3-7 days during the peeling stages where you may want to limit outdoor and public activities, but the results are worth it! With a long standing record for safety and effectiveness, this is the strongest peel we offer in our skin care line and one of our best sellers. This peel is for experienced peelers only. Due to the strength of this peel if you are new to peeling, you should try the 15% TCA peel first before jumping to this level of peel. This peel is suitable for lighter skin tones, darker skin tones should not use this peel as there is a higher risk of pigment issues with this level of peel. As with all of our products, a patch test is recommended to assess your particular response to the peel. This is a 1 fl oz bottle of peel solution in amber glass to protect the activity of the solution. Ingredients: Distilled sterile water, Trichloroacetic acid.By purchasing this product, you assume all risk associated with its use and are responsible for all results either intended or unintended from using this product.

Review from African-American
By lululuvsu
I am writing this review because I have hardly seen any reviews from African-Americans using TCA peels and it was very frustrating for me. I bought this product blindly and through desperation. I have had discoloration on my face for as long as I remember. My nose and forehead is several shades lighter than the rest of my face. This has made me very self conscious about my appearance. I have tried everything I could think of. NOTHING has worked for me to lighten my skin. I started to research chemical peels. I bought glycolic acid (70%). It didn't peel my skin, but It did make some acne go away. That's really all it did, I was a bit disappointed. I started to research TCA peels and saw that people with dark skin shouldn't use it. I did anyway and boy am I glad I did! I did my peel on a Wednesday night. The next day almost ALL my acne was gone!! I was on Accutane for six months about two years ago and even though it got rid of most of my acne, I still had some stubborn spots on my cheeks, nose, and the skin between my lips and chin. I followed the directions to the T. I frosted well on the first pass. It did burn, but I read a book in that time to keep my mind off the burning. I left it on for about four minutes, then rinsed for about two minutes. It still burned bad, so I got some baking soda, and put it on my face. After that, it stopped burning. Like I said, the next day most of my acne was gone, but I was still kind of skeptical since my glycolic acid did the same thing, but I noticed this time was different because my skin looked really leathery and shiny. It also looked very dry as well. On Friday, same thing, I started to peel a tiny bit around my nose. I anticipated that because around my nose peels more than anywhere else. On Saturday, I started to PEEL. I looked like a snake shedding its skin. I know I shouldn't have picked at it, but I did because I was around people. I went to the beach, and put TONS of sunscreen on. On Sunday, I peeled even more. I mean, my skin was REALLY coming off. No matter what kind of moisturizer I put on my face, it looked very dry and you could see the peeling. The only thing that made my face look presentable was Eucerin Plus Intensive Repair Lotion 8.4 fl oz (250 ml). It has AHA in it (the directions that the peel came with said not to use anything with AHA in it), but I had to. Nothing else made my face look remotely good to go out in public and I was around a lot of people this weekend. On Monday I peeled. Today is Tuesday and I'm still peeling. So far, I am loving what I see. My skin is much, much smoother. There are places on my face where my old skin hasn't peeled yet and I compare the new skin with the old and the discoloration is much lower! The new skin is lighter than the old. What I'm going to do is use a hydroquinone cream (2%) for about six weeks and see if my skin will lighten. If not, then I will do the TCA peel again and try the cream again. Some things to note: FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. I'm sure if you don't you will mess up your skin severely. Next: USE GLOVES. I didn't, and my finger tips are peeling as well. Next: USE SUNSCREEN WHEN OUTSIDE. Don't want to mess up your skin again. Next: MAKE SURE YOU HIDE FROM PEOPLE FOR AT LEAST A WEEK. Or at least use a cream that will hide the peeling if you can because boy, oh, boy you will look UGLY during the process. Next: MOISTURIZE, MOISTURIZE, MOUISTERIZE!! Also, SUNSCREEN IS YOUR BEST FRIEND. Cannot stress that enough. Overall, I am VERY satisfied with the results. I am very glad that I didn't have to spend a fortune because I was going to buy Kojic acid if the TCA didn't work, and that is about $200+ dollars. I am poor college student haha

powerful...it really works
By apsara
I was impressed first by how quickly I rec'd my product. I ordered it on thursday afternoon, and got it in the mail on saturday. I spent a great deal of time reading reviews, and researching before I decided to do an in-home peel. I have had 3 done by a cosmetic surgeon, and have always felt like they were the best thing I can do for my skin. It really refines and corrects the skin. Any chemical peel is 'painful,' but certianly something anyone can endure...for the end results are worth it. The burn begins within 10-15 seconds, so be prepared to stand in front of a fan. I did 2 sweeps, even tho I frosted on the first time, and left it on for a full five minutes each time, as this is how I knew to do it for me. I also have a high pain tolerance. Its only about 10-15 minutes from start to finish for results you will be so pleased with.
This peel was in my opinion exactly the same as the ones I had done in a surgeons ofc. I went into it figuring it would burn...AND IT DID, but the fan did the trick. I had frosting immediately with the first application. I mean white frosting. I did my neck and chest as well...My dr. always does, so I felt safe in doing it. It will be a good week if this one follows my previous peels, but when it is finished, I know I will love the fresh new skin that I will have. It is extremely important as many other ladies have mentioned to WEAR A GOOD, high numbered sunscreen. And whatever you do...do not peel it or pick at it. Leave it alone, and let it do its thing. This is a good time to practice patience, and remember to drink plenty of WATER and keep your skin covered. I use Aquafor, its a good cover to protect your skin.
Don't be fearful of this wonderful treatment. Just get in there and do it. Its something good, you can do for yourself. Read up on it and research it, then resign yourself to treat yourself. The fan brush worked for me, and I prepped my skin by washing it and removing any oil residue with a cotton ball soaked with alcohol. It really isn't a big deal, and again, you'll thank yourself for doing it. You'll also save yourself hundreds of dollars by doing it yourself in the comforts of your home, and not going to a dr. to do the exact same thing. The bottle has multiple treatments in it as well.
I am just very impressed, and thankful I found this on Amazon. Next up for me is the derma roller. After my skin has heeled from the peel and can tolerate the microneedle treatment.
I am 56 yrs old in case anyone is curious. These peels easily take 10 years of the look of your skin.
Thanks Amazon!

UPDATE:
It is day 3 post peel. I woke up this morning beginning to peel. The outer layer is DEAD, and I look like lizard lady. There are pieces of dead skin, and crusts all over my face....I am so attractive like this I can't stand myself...lol. I am keeping thick layers of Aquafor (The clear vaseline looking Aquafor, comes in a jar) to keep it from being uncomfortable, due to the seperation of the dead skin, from the tender new pink skin underneath. This is when picking is tempting, but I know not to, as it will damage the skin underneath. I will update near weeks end. I continue to be impressed with the power of this peel.

update:
My peel is now complete. I had hoped to post this by last friday 11-4, but, oh well, better late than never I suppose. I was pretty much finished peeling, and was heeled by sunday the 6th. My skin was pink, and a wee bit tender, but keeping it moist with vit.E helped. Now 10 days out, and I am back to my regular skin care routine. My pores are noticably smaller and definately cleaner. The lines around my eyes are much softer, as well my marionette lines. My neck is 'tighter,' and my chest, softer and the color is back to my regular pale white self. All of the built up dryness has been removed, and my skin recieves product better now.
I hope this helped, and possibly alleviated any concerns one might have about this product. It's a week out of your life, but the end result is so well worth it. Be sure and usel a high number sunscreen, your skin is vulnerable.

Not for everyone...
By "aznguy"
This product does what it claims. That being said, for those of you wanting a more youthful appearance, please be forewarned that these types of treatments are not for the faint at heart. You can damage your skin if you don't take care in what you are doing. If you have never indulged in this type of treatment I strongly suggest you start with a lower strength (preferably 12%) to experience your skin's worthiness to the peel's strength. Better safe than sorry...this is one place where more is not better...be patient. Follow the instructions and also review other blogs pertaining to others who have used treatments of this type. I accomplished what I was looking forward to and that was eliminating dark spots and minimizing fine lines and wrinkles through a scheduled maintenance plan.
